Last few days have been nuts, driving to Charleston, Valentines day, work, intoxication, old friends, new friends, naked boys, etc etc. In all there are alot of stories to tell over the next few posts.
Saturday, Valentines day, it was gross rainy day.. but it was Valentines day. I had to work, but Kris and I had a lunch date at Salty Nut. After work I had to run home to get a shower, than Kris and I left for Charleston. Reason for visit? Will Durkee. Best friend from high school, whom I haven’t seen since August. Got to Charleston, realized Kris sway bar was disconnected. Things that aren’t good.. that. So we zipped tied it together. There wasn’t a place anywhere at 1030 pm, that we could go buy a bolt/nut combo for it.After using zipties to fix our need, we drove around lost looking for something entertaining to do. Finally, called of all people… my mom, to help navigate us to some point in Charleston that would entertain some young minds. We found it. King St. King St. I would say is a long street with bars, taverns, grills and pizza palors for no-one other than us. The under 28 year old person, that finds themselves needing something to do. We wandered around aimlessly for 30 or so minutes, finally ending up at Mellow Mushroom. Paid 5 bucks to get in, and than only to find out their kitchen was closed. Will, Kris and I weren’t too interested in hanging there. They had a “single party” going on, and neither Kris or I are single, and Will was just lost. We were hungry and let down that the kitchen was closed. We than wandered across the street to Sharky’s pizza. Nothing impressive, just big, hand thrown pizza. After this we wandered (we wandered alot that night) back to the car. We were going to drop Will off at his hotel room and call it a night. Andrew, Kris’ friend from work this summer called. So we went to his college, where he had just had security called on him. Why? Because the RA called them saying they were doing drugs, which they weren’t. Finally Andrew, his friend Daniel, and us three get in his Z71 type truck, and went to find the Charleston ghost. Which in itself is a story alone.. I will leave you here until lunch…
